The annual Purple Poppy Day, organised by the Ancre Somme Association Scotland, was held on the 22 August 2025 at the Purple Poppy Memorial located on the corner of Main Street and Ecclesmachan Road in Uphall.
The service was held to pay tribute to the animals who have served and continue to serve. ASA Scotland Chairman Councillor Harry Cartmill noted his thanks to Lord Lieutenant Moira Niven for supporting the event.
