
The annual Purple Poppy Day, organised by the Ancre Somme Association Scotland, was held on the 23 August 2023 at the Purple Poppy Memorial located on the corner of Main Street and Ecclesmachan Road in Uphall.
The service was held to pay tribute to the animals who have served and continue to serve. ASA Scotland Chairman Councillor Harry Cartmill noted his thanks to Depute Lord Lieutenant Allison Kennedy OBE for supporting the event.
